Agim Çeku u fillua procesi i hartimit të strategjisë së qeverisë së Republikës së Kosovës për integrimin e komuniteteve Romë, Ashkali dhe Egjiptian. Kosova Foundation for Open Society Kosova Foundation for Open Society is a local and non-governmental organization, being part of the international network of foundations financed by philanthropist George Soros. Since December 1999, KFOS is a legally registered NGO under UNMIK legislation. The Network of Soros Foundations has been present in Kosova since 1993. The Office was active in the fields of education and youth, human rights, civil society, media, women programs, as well as other fields. With the decision of Mr. Soros, in June 1999 Prishtina Office was upgraded to an independent Foundation, supervised by a Kosovar Board and with a consolidated management. Currently KFOS is engaged in the following programs: - European Integration - Civil Society - Minority and Roma - East-East Partnership Beyond Borders CIVIKOS Platform – Partnership between the Kosovar Government and Kosovar Civil Society In June 2007 the Foundation organized a seminar in Oher, Macedonia, which it brought together numerous civil society organizations and government representatives establish and continue developing further the foundations of cooperation between the two.  In a participatory manner, which has marked this process since the very beginning, it has been identified that the agreement for cooperation needs to be formalized, and as such become the cornerstone for any initiative in future.  During the workshop, participants identified four key aspects where cooperation needs to be strengthened, including the general position of the civil society, responsibilities of the government towards the civil society, the responsibility of the civil society organizations towards fulfillment of their organization missions, and the cooperation between government and civil society. Civil Society for Clean Parliament In June 2007, a group of NGOs coming from different parts of Kosovo came together to initiate a coalition of civil society organizations called “Civil Society for a Clean Parliament”. In a nutshell, the idea behind the project was to create a parliament free of corruption, organized crime, and any other illegal activities, by researching the background of each candidate for deputy at the central parliament coming from the six bigger Kosovar political parties, in order to reveal their possible involvement in illegal activities such as corruption, organized crime, tax evasion, nepotism, etc. Read more...
